Business Description

Sjöparksskolan is Gällivare Municipality's only municipal secondary school in the locality, located next to Sjöparken and Isborgen, the municipality's ice arena. The school has approximately 410 students and around 55 staff members. The school has recently been renovated to meet the requirements for a secondary school and is modern in its design. The school focuses on creating good learning environments, collegial learning, and developing sustainable structures to prepare students for the future. The school has leisure leaders working every day. There are also school nurses and school counselors on site. Additionally, there are special educators, social educators, and study and career counselors. Two key educators work on developing our digital competence, and the school has substitute teachers to cover short-term absences. The school is divided into 4 teams led by a lead teacher. New and unqualified staff are mentored by experienced and qualified colleagues during their introduction and in their ongoing daily teaching work. The school offers the opportunity for students in need to work in smaller teaching groups. There is also a preparatory class for newly arrived students.

Job Responsibilities

You will assess and investigate students' needs for support and adjustments. Design and implement individual action plans for students with special needs. Provide advice and guidance to teachers and school staff on inclusion and differentiated instruction.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed special educator. We seek someone who is clear, driven, and has an easy time building good relationships and collaborating well with students, guardians, and colleagues. We see that you are engaged, solution-focused, and enjoy thinking innovatively. Personal suitability is of great importance.

Upon employment, a current extract from the police criminal record must be presented.

Within the framework of the national minority language law, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sámi, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an asset when applying for employment in Gällivare Municipality.
