Bernadottegymnasiet is looking for a substitute teacher in English and French for ht-25

Workplace Description

Bernadottegymnasiet is a municipal school that has been around since 1996.

We have about 450 students at the school distributed across the Social Behavior Program, the Economics and Law Program, and a class in the Language Introduction Program.

At Bernadottegymnasiet, we combine university preparatory studies with school-wide outdoor activities in line with our profile based on leadership and personal development, as well as physical activity, outdoor life, and challenges.

Bernadottegymnasiet is a school where community, collaboration, personal development, and leadership go hand in hand both in and out of the classroom. We believe that a close relationship with the students – created, for example, during our so-called intensive weeks and sports and outdoor activities – lays the foundation for success in the classroom.

We are now looking for a skilled teacher qualified to teach English and French for a 100% substitute position during the autumn term of 2025, with the possibility of extension on a part-time basis during the spring term of 2026.

Job Description

You will be responsible for teaching the groups included in the position and will also serve as a mentor. Other tasks related to the school's profile and active participation in the school's joint activities are also included.

Qualifications and Desirable Experience

We prefer that you have a teaching degree and certification for and experience in teaching at the upper secondary school’s university preparatory programs.

You work in a reflective and systematic way, both individually and together with colleagues. You use IT as a natural tool to develop students' learning and work with forward-looking feedback to help students achieve their goals.

You are positive, driven, and engaged. Your focus is on seeing opportunities, and you work methodically where follow-up, evaluation, and analysis permeate your work. We place great importance on the ability to create curiosity and motivation among your students.

You take initiative and are driven in your work. You must also find it easy to collaborate closely with other teachers at the school, with student health services, and with school management.

You act as a role model and maintain a close professional relationship with the students.
