At Gärdesskolan and Olaus Petri School, we continuously work to improve the pedagogical learning environment and to develop collegial learning.
We have a school culture characterized by high expectations. Our teaching is structured and varied, combining traditional teaching materials with digital devices. Our high merit value is proof that students achieve school success at Gärdesskolan. The merit value in grade 9 is among the highest in the city.
The unit consists of two primary schools and a special needs school in Östermalm; Gärdesskolan F-9 and the special needs school and Olaus Petri School F-3. Together, we are approximately 650 students and 120 staff members working towards the goal of a good school for everyone.
The special needs school at Gärdesskolan is in an exciting expansion phase. In 2024 and 2025, adjustments will be made to the premises to meet the needs of tomorrow. In connection with this, the student capacity will increase to 40 students.

Job Description
Our classes in the special needs school are locally integrated and part of the school's working team that works inclusively based on the students' needs and abilities, taking advantage of natural meetings in the school's daily work. We have a consolidated school day with after-school activities, and for our students over 12 years old, we offer short-term supervision. We have about 20 students enrolled who study both subjects and subject areas. The staff working in the special needs school consists of special teachers, resource educators, and student assistants.
We are now looking for a structured, engaged, and communicative teacher for subject areas. You have a solution-focused approach and are creative in how you meet the students' needs. You are responsible for the entire teaching process for students studying subject areas. You have a good ability to build relationships with students. You can interpret social interactions among students, be a role model, and create a safe and trusting environment. The assignment involves a lot of student contact, which requires you to act as a good role model for the students. You plan, implement, follow up, and evaluate teaching individually and together with the resource educators. You have a guiding role towards the resource educators and student assistants in the groups. You collaborate with after-school care and KTT to facilitate the student's entire learning process throughout the day.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has a teaching license with the authority to teach students in special needs school, primary school grades F-3, or education that the employer assesses as equivalent. You have experience teaching students with intellectual disabilities. You have an inclusive approach. Your expectations are high for yourself, your colleagues, and your students. You have good collaboration skills. For you, the students are always the focus. You enjoy development and want to be part of developing the operations. You have good insight and knowledge of the special needs school and the governing documents of after-school care. You use creativity and adapt your approach, methods, and techniques based on the student's needs. You comfortably use digital tools in your teaching and are accustomed to using clarifying pedagogy and TAKK. Experience working in special needs schools or with the target group for special needs schools. You master the Swedish language fluently in both speech and writing.
You have good collaboration skills and can create good relationships as the work involves many contact points with students, staff, and guardians.
