Kista International School is a primary school located in Akalla. The school is a free school founded in 2010 and owned by a non-profit association. It is a growing school that will have about 750 students in grades F-9 for the school year 25/26. The school has been very successful, with around 90% of students eligible for upper secondary school in recent years and has been among the top three schools in the entire country in the Swedish National Agency for Education's survey. We strongly believe in having high expectations for our students, and we are not satisfied until all students succeed. To achieve this goal, we work hard to strengthen collaboration with families, maintain order and structure in the school, and take care of our teachers so that they feel comfortable and can do a good job. We are very proud of our good collegial culture at the school, and within our working teams, we have excellent cooperation and support for each other. We have a high presence of adults in the school and work towards a structured and well-organized student health effort.

We are now looking for a teacher in Spanish and English. It is approximately 50% of each subject. Spanish is a popular language at the school, and there are two groups per grade in years 6-9, so there is already a teacher at the school with the same combination. The teaching of English is in years 7-9. You will be part of a team in Spanish and English where you plan together and support each other, ensuring equity in teaching for the students is important. You need to be confident in teaching and be able to inspire students with joy to want to learn more. The role requires you to be structured, have the ability to teach in a pedagogical way to encourage students towards more knowledge, and possess good leadership qualities while understanding the importance of building relationships.

We always strive to hire qualified teachers, but if you are a student teacher or have other interesting educational and professional experience related to the content of the role, we also welcome applications from unqualified individuals who have experience teaching in primary schools in Sweden. The position is 100%. Start date is August 4 or by agreement. Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis. Applications are only accepted in Swedish.
