Job Responsibilities

Your task as a camp leader at Akka's campgrounds is to be responsible for children aged 9-13 years and to plan and lead activities for this group of participants. Camp involves round-the-clock activities for the youth and us leaders. As a leader, you live and work at the campgrounds together with the children and youth. Therefore, you need to be comfortable being away from home for at least 6 weeks.

A large part of the work involves meeting the needs of young people and being able to guide them in their decisions. You also need to feel comfortable in more life-oriented conversations. Experience

You who are applying should have a great interest in being outdoors or experience in outdoor education, as most of our activities are conducted outdoors. We believe that those who have experience with children in the middle school age would fit this role as the work with children requires difficult boundary setting and relationship building. We believe that those who have experience with elementary school students have a good foundation to succeed in your work as a camp leader. Activities we do include hiking, building rafts, climbing, swimming, and cooking outdoors. We will also have artistic activities such as theater, dance, and singing. Disco, football tournaments, and themed days are also on the schedule.

Employment Conditions

The position is full-time. You must be able to attend our training days on-site at the campgrounds in Värmland from May 1 - May 4, and June 6 - 11. During the summer, you need to be able to work, and thus be away from home for at least six weeks during the period June 12 - August 18.
