Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a research engineer in urban and regional studies.

The position involves work in two research projects with data analysis in GIS, SPSS, or equivalent software. The role is situated at the intersection of planning, architecture, security, and geoinformatics as well as data knowledge. Job responsibilities also include assisting in research-related tasks linked to spatial analyses and updating websites. Programming skills and knowledge of NLTK and SpaCy packages are an advantage.

The work is carried out in close collaboration with project leaders but also requires a good ability to work independently.

Qualifications

Requirements

A completed university degree at the undergraduate or graduate level in civil engineering or related fields with a focus on the physical environment, or equivalent competence
Good experience and knowledge of spatial analyses in GIS
Experience working with databases in Excel and SPSS, etc., and open data/portal
Basic knowledge of web publishing tools (e.g., WordPress).
Documented good knowledge of spoken and written English and Swedish
Good organizational skills
You have subject expertise and proficiency in your professional practice

Meritorious

Programming skills and knowledge of NLTK and SpaCy packages are an advantage
Good communication skills in both spoken and written English and Swedish
We appreciate your ability to work independently and systematically based on given tasks
