This autumn, Lillåkers School will open. A new resource school focused on autism will open in newly renovated premises in Lidingö, where all students follow the national curriculum. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a licensed special education teacher who wants to build an innovative and inspiring team. You understand the importance of differentiated teaching and accessible learning environments that promote all students' education in the best way and are driven to develop sustainable practices together with colleagues, teachers, and the principal. You will develop teaching together with colleagues where you share experiences and, with a formative approach, support and challenge so that teaching evolves.

We are looking for someone who wants to help start an operation for students who particularly need help to succeed socially and academically to become active future citizens. In your role, you will:

  • Teach and support students in need of special support and guide the educators working with students in need of special support in primary, middle, or high school. The work is primarily conducted in classrooms with other staff and students.
  • Work preventively and operationally to meet students' individual needs.
  • Conduct assessments and observations to adapt teaching.
  • Guide and collaborate with other educational staff.
  • Actively participate in the school's student health work and build good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.
  • Participate in the school's Student Health Team and engage in analyzing results, evaluations, and planning interventions, as well as actively working to prevent concerning absenteeism.
  • For the position with overall responsibility, you will gather and lead the work of other special education teachers in collaboration with the principal.

QUALIFICATIONS

For the position, you are required to have:

  • A degree in special education or a special pedagogue with an interest in working practically in the field with students.
  • Experience working with students with autism.
  • Good knowledge of creating accessible learning environments and adapting teaching to support all students.
  • The ability to work in a guiding role and as a role model for other educators, as well as being a team player who collaborates closely with colleagues and other staff.
  • Experience documenting support measures, preparing investigations for special support, and developing action programs and action plans. You should also have good experience in routinely following up, analyzing with the EHT, and adjusting teaching as needed.
  • Strong communication skills and a solution-oriented attitude.
  • Analytical and goal-oriented with good knowledge of working with systematic quality work.
  • Good knowledge and experience in working with visual support and guiding colleagues in that work.
  • For the position with overall responsibility, you should have experience leading other educators.

We consider it an advantage if you have:

  • Experience working with concerning school absenteeism.
  • Experience driving reading projects and following up and analyzing reading results.
  • Knowledge of sign communication, signs as support for speech.

The municipality applies individual salary setting. Start date by agreement.
