About the job

We are looking for a teacher for instruction in crafts and art. The scope of the art instruction corresponds to 30%.

Tellusskolan THEA in Bromma is a short walk from the tram in Johannesfred. THEA Bromma is the small school with big ambitions. We work with rhetoric as our profile. For us, it is a subject that contributes to both personal and linguistic development. Many experienced teachers work at the school who appreciate driving joint development projects focused on collegial learning. We have low teacher turnover and high satisfaction at our school. The school currently has about 160 students with two classes in each grade. In recent years, we have had good results according to the Swedish National Agency for Education's statistics for both grades and national tests.

The main operator for Tellusskolan THEA is Theducation AB, which operates two schools within the higher grades of compulsory education, in Linköping and Stockholm. We see ourselves as a largely teacher-driven school and want you as a teacher to contribute to that.

The craft room at our school is primarily adapted for teaching textile crafts, but there is also the opportunity to work on smaller projects in wood and metal. To ensure that students receive all parts of the central content in wood and metal crafts, students in grades 7 and 8 go with the teacher for a full-day instruction in a woodworking shop during the term. This is usually a very pleasant and appreciated day where students have the opportunity to work more practically and explore different techniques in wood and metal crafts.

We are now looking for someone who has high ambitions with their teaching profession and who enjoys working in a smaller context where we collectively work towards the same vision and goals. Our teachers and other staff work for a good atmosphere at the school and a calm study environment focused on the task. Our starting point is that a good relationship with the student is crucial for both learning and motivation. Therefore, with us, you are both a subject teacher and a mentor for a class together with one of your colleagues, and you will be part of a work team at the school.

We place great emphasis on innovative teaching that provides students with practical and intellectual conditions to develop interests that can lead to further studies later in life.

It is also of great importance that you share the view that the school's development depends on your and others' ability to learn from and with each other as teachers at the school. Therefore, your tasks include observing your colleagues and participating in a systematic development work for the school.

Our teachers work from a holistic perspective where you are expected to share our values and vision and also participate in joint activities for the school as a whole, for individual grades, or for individual classes. The responsibility as a mentor means, in addition to individual student responsibility, also a willingness and ability to create a good cohesion in the class you and your co-mentor are responsible for.
