About the American High School, Stockholm - Essingen

- The school is now in its fourth academic year.

- The school has approximately 560 students studying in the Natural Science and Technology program, the Economics program, or the Social Science program.

About the Role

As a teacher, you will teach our students in Swedish and/or Social Studies, as well as have a mentorship role. We prefer that you can teach in both subjects, but it may also be possible to split the teaching into two different positions.

You will be responsible for planning, implementing, assessing, and evaluating your own teaching. You will conduct and assess National tests in Swedish. You are expected to lead lessons based on our pedagogical structure, which you will receive guidance in. You will teach in a digital environment with digital teaching materials combined with traditional literature.

The position is a temporary contract of 70-100% until 2025-06-15 or until the regular holder of the position returns. Start date as soon as possible or by agreement.

For those who show interest and demonstrate good skills and performance based on our expectations, there are opportunities to continue in a temporary position during the next academic year, teaching Swedish and rhetoric.

Your Profile

We are primarily looking for someone with a teaching license or teaching experience, who is qualified to teach Swedish and Social Studies. It is highly meritorious if you have experience teaching Swedish 3, as well as if you have conducted and assessed National tests in Swedish at the high school level.
