Job Advertisement: Piano Teacher at Lidingö Music School

Lidingö Music School preserves a rich tradition while being strongly focused on development - all to provide our students with the best of a whole. Our mission is "important for real". We teach both close to students' school environments and in our own adapted facilities. The organization currently consists of about 30 employees, and we look forward to meeting additional qualified piano teachers who can contribute to the whole!

For the autumn term of 2025, we are looking for a new colleague for a permanent position at 60%. We are also looking for two substitutes for parental leave:

• A substitute position at 80% during the autumn term of 2025.
• A substitute position at 20-40% during the same period.

There are good opportunities for continued substitutes within the music school during the spring term of 2026, either fully or partially.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a teacher at Lidingö Music School, you will teach students both individually and in groups. You should have the ability to guide both beginners and advanced students towards development and be self-sufficient in your work. Furthermore, you have good pedagogical insight and are comfortable working with various digital tools.

All our teachers are active in both concert activities and in organizational development. Therefore, you should have the ability to drive your own concert projects and enjoy collaborating on overarching projects with colleagues. You will foster good contacts with students, their guardians, and the staff at the schools where you will teach.

On April 6, Lidingö Music School will celebrate its 70th anniversary at the Concert Hall in Stockholm. An annual recurring project is "Song Treasure", which means that our teachers reach about 1400 of Lidingö's school students who get to sing with a large orchestral accompaniment. An external foundation strengthens the organization with valuable investments for advanced students and has also contributed funds for the purchase of very good teaching instruments as well as opportunities for us to invite students to exciting meetings with professional musicians. QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a music pedagogical university degree with piano as the main subject or equivalent competence that the employer assesses as equivalent. You have very good skills in piano playing and are genre-broad in the sense from popular music to classical repertoire. Your methodology spans both group and individual development from beginner to advanced level.

It is valuable for us if you also have a university education in and experience of teaching children and young people in courses such as sound studio and songwriting. You have good collaboration skills and find it easy to build relationships with both students and colleagues. Since you will be working with digital tools, you should have good digital competence. A driver's license and access to a car may be an advantage in the job, as movement during some teaching days may be necessary based on the schedule.
