Sigfridsborg School is part of the Älta principal area located in the picturesque Älta.

The principal area consists of 5 preschools, 3 primary schools, and 1 resource school. Within the principal area, we have great opportunities for professional development, networking, and experience exchange, which benefits the development of children and students.

We are now looking for an engaged special education teacher who wants to create the best conditions for students' learning and development. As a special education teacher with us, you will be a key person in supporting students in need of special support. Here you will have the opportunity to work closely with both students and colleagues to adapt teaching, guide staff, and contribute your expertise in special education!

Your Mission

In the role of special education teacher, you will work closely with primary school teachers and resource educators with students in grades F-6, who primarily need special support in mathematics and reading and writing development. You are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching based on the curriculum and the Education Act. You contribute knowledge to maximize learning for students with NPF who require special support. You support and implement special educational measures for students both individually and in smaller groups.

An important task is to guide colleagues in special educational issues. You keep yourself updated on new research and findings in special education. You observe, document, follow up, write action plans, apply for additional funding, establish action programs and investigations for special support, and conduct and analyze screenings and other assessments. If necessary, you participate in meetings with students and guardians to inform and discuss selected measures.

Furthermore, you collaborate and exchange ideas with the special educators and special teachers in the Älta special education network.

Your Experience

For this position, you are required to have:

• teaching certification with authorization to teach in primary school
• special education degree
• experience working as a special education teacher
• knowledge and experience in documenting support measures and mapping needs such as investigations for special support and action programs
• good knowledge of NPF and experience teaching students with NPF

It is advantageous if you also have:

• experience working in a resource school or in a special education group
• experience mentoring teachers.
