University Lecturer in Pedagogy within Principal Training
The Department of Education and Didactics offers education at both undergraduate and advanced levels as well as doctoral training in pedagogy.
We educate nearly 8,000 students annually, making us one of the university's largest departments. We also collaborate with authorities in commissioned education and provide scientific support to organizations facing significant challenges.
We offer a broad portfolio of programs, including the Study and Career Guidance Program, the Bachelor's Program in Pedagogy with a focus on Leadership and Communication, the Human Resource Management Program (PAO), and the Vocational Teacher Program. We also offer several courses within the educational science core of teacher education. At the advanced level, we train principals through our Principal Program and offer a number of master's programs, including a sought-after international program in English with students from around the world.
The department also houses the Centre for University Teacher Education (CeUL), which conducts professional development for university teachers and supports pedagogical development within higher education.
The department has 170 employees, including researchers and teachers, over 40 doctoral students, and about 40 staff in the technical-administrative unit.

Pedagogy within Principal Training.
Job Responsibilities
The responsibilities primarily consist of teaching, course development, supervision, and examination in the department's offerings of principal training programs. Applicants should be prepared to participate in teaching that is largely conducted in residential settings and aimed at school leaders from preschool to adult education. The work includes conducting independent research and participating in pedagogical and administrative development work, which may involve participation in working groups.
Eligibility Requirements
Eligible for appointment as a university lecturer is one who has obtained a doctoral degree in pedagogy or has equivalent scientific competence, and has demonstrated pedagogical proficiency. The pedagogical proficiency must have been demonstrated through teaching and be well documented in a way that allows for the assessment of the quality of the pedagogical activities. The applicant must have both the ability to collaborate and the capability and suitability otherwise necessary to perform the tasks well. The applicant is expected to be able to teach in Swedish from the start of the appointment.
Assessment Criteria
The greatest weight will be given to the assessment criteria for pedagogical proficiency. Thereafter, weight will be given to scientific proficiency. Good ability to teach in Swedish is a requirement. In assessing pedagogical proficiency, consideration will be given to experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching as well as supervision and examination. Significant weight will be given to previous experience of teaching within principal training. The pedagogical proficiency must be well documented so that quality can also be assessed.
In assessing scientific proficiency, weight will be given to research merits within the school sector. A minimum of 15 higher education credits in higher education pedagogy or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways is advantageous.

The university will primarily consider those who, after a qualitative overall assessment of competence and skill, are deemed to have the best conditions to carry out and develop the relevant tasks and contribute to a positive development of the operations.
About the Employment
The position is full-time and is temporary from 2025-07-01 to 2026-06-30.
