The school is centrally located in Sundbyberg, close to tram, bus, subway, and commuter train. The school has newly built/renovated and functional classrooms for subjects such as art, music, and home economics, as well as a very good school library. The playground of the White House is designed to encourage play and is well-suited for the lower grades. The playground of the Red House has a multi-sport area suitable for various ball sports. The direct proximity to Tuvan Park is a great asset for breaks and extracurricular activities. We are now looking for a full-time physical education and social studies teacher who will teach both lower and middle school.

As a teacher in physical education and social studies, you will co-plan with the school's physical education teacher, who is also a lead teacher, and collaborate closely with the teachers who teach social studies in middle school. The position is divided 50% physical education and 50% social studies. You will also have mentor students to be responsible for. It is a requirement that you have experience using digital tools in teaching and developing the instruction so that the digital tools become a means for increased goal achievement. We use, among other things, Google Classroom, etc.

Your role includes participating in the municipality's joint initiative Accessible Learning. Every week, you and your colleagues meet, led by the lead teacher and school management, to develop together so that all students are offered equitable instruction based on accessibility, participation, and inclusion. We have just started a development project USiP - Teaching Skill in Practice, where educators have the opportunity to develop their teaching by observing each other's lessons.

Lilla Alby School is a movement school with a health initiative we call PSG - Pulse Sprint Go. We focus on increased physical activity throughout the school day, which includes scheduled movement breaks. We see that increased movement not only improves students' health for both mind and body but also benefits their knowledge acquisition.

We want you to be a certified teacher in physical education for grades 1-6 and social studies for grades 4-6. To succeed and thrive with us, you need to always have the students' best interests in focus and enjoy collaborating with colleagues in school and after-school care. As a person, you reflect on your teaching in relation to students' results. You adapt so that all students have the opportunity for high goal achievement. You have high expectations for the students and employ an inclusive approach. A requirement is that you master the Swedish language well in both speech and writing.

The position is a permanent full-time employment. Start date is August 12, 2025. The last application date is April 13, 2025. Interviews may begin before the application period has ended.
