For the upcoming academic year, we are now seeking a high school teacher for a permanent position at 100% in biology and chemistry at Norra Real.

Norra Real is an attractive high school in central Stockholm characterized by motivated students in a safe and inclusive learning environment. The school offers natural science, social science, and humanities programs. Within the natural science program, we offer both natural/natural, as well as profiles in research, mathematics, and environment. The humanities program is focused on culture. In the social science program, in addition to social studies, there is a profile in environment and sustainable development. The education aims to provide each student with the best possible conditions for successful higher education studies and active participation in society. We have about 1000 students and around 90 staff members.

Job Description

The position, located in the mathematics and research profile of the natural science program, includes regular teacher duties such as teaching, participating in program and subject team work, and other pedagogical processes concerning our students.

Current courses include Biology Level 1 and Chemistry Level 1 with two groups in year 1. Biology 2 and Chemistry 2 are studied part-time, with one group in year 2.

Norra Real has well-developed and well-equipped institutions in all subjects and is looking for someone who enjoys collaborating on students' learning and is comfortable with laboratory equipment. We seek someone who can motivate and challenge students at all levels to further develop and find joy in your subjects. You see your didactic competence and communicative ability as central to succeeding in the role. For many of our students in the natural science program, academic results in chemistry and biology are of great importance for their overall sense of success in high school studies, and therefore we generally set high pedagogical and didactic demands on those who teach these subjects. You should have a well-documented ability to explain challenging and difficult subject matter, inspire and motivate students to learn more, and have a good ability to methodically help students overcome the barriers in understanding that high school courses in chemistry and biology naturally present.

At Norra Real, every student has access to their own computer (1:1) and you are comfortable working in digital processes and are not afraid to try new things regarding the digital aspects of teaching and learning.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a certified teacher and/or qualified to teach high school courses in biology and chemistry.

The position will be filled on the condition that the current planning of the distribution of positions is carried out and that it does not need to be claimed by surplus staff.
