About the Organization:
Karlslund School is a well-functioning F-9 school in central Vallentuna with proximity to good communication links. Approximately 500 students attend the school. You will come to a culture where innovation is encouraged, and we are happy to support you through your development projects with colleagues.
Karlslund School is Erasmus+ accredited and conducts several exchanges with students and teachers every year.
The Vallentuna music classes are run by Karlslund School and are an exciting culture that characterizes the school unit.
Job Responsibilities:
As a special education teacher, you work closely with teachers, for the students. You develop the school unit by making teaching accessible to students. With good communication and in a good relationship, you act as a professional sounding board for teachers. You work to identify areas for development for the entire school unit and in individual teaching situations. Through qualitative analysis and systematic work, you continuously drive development processes in practice.
You need to have a sharp pedagogical eye that sees what needs to be developed, as well as the drive and knowledge to implement the development in practice. You see opportunities to develop teaching together with teachers and educators.
Your working method is proactive and outreach. You are a support for the entire school with your special educational knowledge in focus. We have trust-based and distributed leadership and governance at the school. It is a great advantage if you have an aptitude for this, take great responsibility, and are driven to succeed in practice.
You are responsible for developing promoting, preventive, remedial, and supportive measures in collaboration with guardians and staff.
You will conduct various types of pedagogical assessments and establish and continuously evaluate action programs and support measures.
You will analyze results and develop methods and approaches which you implement in the organization.
You will be a natural and important part of the school's student health team.
Qualifications:
- You are a qualified special education teacher.
- You have experience teaching in primary school.
- You have experience mentoring teachers regarding teaching and adaptations for students with special needs.
- You have a strong ability to identify, analyze, and help remove obstacles and causes of difficulties in teaching and learning environments.
- You have very good pedagogical competence to ensure the quality of work with action programs and support measures.
- You are a skilled communicator.
- Your working method is responsible and solution-focused.

- You work towards results, demonstrate reliability, and take responsibility for planning and following up on your work.
- You strengthen relationships by helping others, collaborating, following rules and processes, and sharing information.
- You develop, improve, seek solutions, learning, and knowledge on your own initiative.
