Frans Schartaus Handelsinstitut conducts post-secondary vocational training within the framework of vocational higher education.

Our programs are created and implemented in close collaboration with the labor market. We currently have 16 different vocational training programs. Your mission as a program leader

As a program leader, you are responsible for one or more programs. Your immediate supervisor is the deputy principal at the school.

In the role of program leader for our vocational training programs, you are responsible for:

• creating and maintaining industry contacts and working with environmental monitoring
• continuously following up and implementing governing documents from, among others, the Swedish National Agency for Higher Vocational Education (MYH)
• developing entirely new vocational training programs
• having some budget responsibility and handling administrative tasks related to the role
• ensuring that students acquire relevant knowledge, skills, and competencies to become employable after graduation
• continuously following up and developing quality work, actively participating in working groups and other important focus areas for our operations
• being responsible for pedagogical guidance as well as assessment and validation of learning
• ensuring that the curricula to be established by the management group are created and based on the national and European frameworks SeQF and EQF
• working with other cross-program administrative tasks

You are the contact person for students, the executor of the management group, and responsible for ensuring that teachers deliver. You work closely with other program leaders and with administrative support functions where everyone contributes to good collaboration.

Your work as a program leader is reviewed by the Swedish National Agency for Higher Vocational Education through various inspections and by the internal quality process of Frans Schartaus Handelsinstitut.

Your competence and experience

We are looking for someone who has a university degree or a vocational higher education degree in a field that the employer deems relevant. You also need to have work experience either from the Data/IT/Tech sector and/or extensive experience as a program leader within vocational higher education, as well as a broad and current network in the IT industry. Very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing, English, and the Office package, as well as administrative and digital skills.

It is an advantage if you are a certified Program Leader within vocational higher education and if you have been a program leader for IT programs with documented high quality. Studies in pedagogy and experience in writing vocational training applications are also advantageous.

To thrive in the role, it is important that you have good leadership skills, a coaching approach, and see opportunities and potential in developing others. You possess drive and the ability to network with the labor market and keep yourself updated on what is happening in the labor market and within vocational higher education. Creating engagement and participation comes naturally to you. You are attentive and communicate in a smooth and constructive manner. You are used to working towards goals and can flexibly change direction when the goals change. To achieve results and meet deadlines, you prioritize and plan your work effectively.
