At the Multilingual Unit, we work with mother tongue education and study guidance for all students in the municipality. About thirty teachers with knowledge of many different languages provide high-quality mother tongue education and study guidance to the students.

Our mother tongue education is centralized. This means that we have gathered the mother tongue education to one day a week, and students are taught in groups, based on primary, middle, and high school.

Do you have a great interest in language teaching? Do you want to teach our fantastic students? We are now looking for two mother tongue teachers in Mandarin at 20% as parental substitutes and mother tongue and study guidance at 30-40%. You are warmly welcome to become a part of us!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In your role as a mother tongue teacher, you will plan, implement, and evaluate the teaching according to the applicable curriculum. As a mother tongue teacher, you will work on language development and include all students in your teaching.

All teaching takes place on-site at a school in a fully equipped classroom with all the necessary equipment, organized according to the different stages of teaching. The teaching times are on Mondays between 15:00-18:00.

As a teacher, you are responsible for your subject in established student groups but have great opportunities to shape and further develop the teaching in mother tongue and are expected to collaborate with your colleagues who teach different languages.

The mother tongue teaching takes place in close collaboration with a colleague, which means that you will be two teachers in the classroom. Together, you will plan and implement the teaching, sharing responsibility and contributing your different competencies and perspectives.

The study guidance role includes study support based on the students' schedules.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a teaching license and is a qualified mother tongue teacher in Mandarin.
• Has very good knowledge of both Swedish and Mandarin, both spoken and written.
• Has very good knowledge of the Swedish curriculum.
• Has digital competence and experience using various digital tools and systems.

It is an advantage if you have previously worked as a mother tongue teacher.

It is essential that you are pedagogical in your teaching and can communicate and create good relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. You are also creative and find solutions to teach in the best possible way. You are an engaged and collaborative person who constantly seeks new ways to develop and grow, both independently and together with your colleagues.
