About the position

We are looking for a teacher in veterinary nursing for a position at 80% with the possibility of permanent employment. With us, you will teach courses related to veterinary nursing in the Natural Resources program and play a central role in preparing our students for a future in animal professions and veterinary nursing. You will work closely with a dedicated team of teachers and instructors where collaboration and community are key to success. At the school, there are 2-3 teachers who teach veterinary nursing, and you will be one of them.

Your duties will include teaching in the subject of animal care within animal health and medical care, following up on students during APL (internship), examination in D9/GKLH, gymnasiearbete, as well as participating in meetings and collaborating with student health and other professions at the school. Who are you?

We are looking for someone with a background in veterinary nursing and a genuine interest in teaching and developing young talents as well as students with various needs. You may be a veterinarian, a licensed veterinary nurse, an animal caregiver with extensive experience, or have other relevant experience in veterinary nursing. Teacher certification or previous teaching experience is an advantage, but we primarily value your pedagogical interest and your willingness to guide our students towards an exciting and meaningful career future. If you do not have teacher certification, we would like you to be open to further education in the future.

About us

Djurgymnasiet Stockholm is a small and family-oriented high school in Liljeholmen with about 300 students and 56 employees. The classes have 25-30 students each. We offer the Natural Resources program with profiles in Companion Animals and Veterinary Nursing and actively work to stay at the forefront of our field. Our facilities are modern and well-suited for education in animal care. We have special classrooms and equipment for veterinary nursing education. We have a strong student health service and full-time mentors to support our students in the best way possible. Our main organization also has a dog daycare and a veterinary clinic adjacent to the school with which we collaborate.

We work with Google for Education and Schoolsoft for smooth and modern teaching.

Contract type: Probationary employment, monthly salary. Seasonal employment, which means a 44-hour work week including trust time at your own location. And that you largely have time off when students are on break.
