Licensed and Qualified High School Teacher in Somali as Modern Language and Mother Tongue

Do you want to teach modern languages and mother tongue? We are looking for dedicated and qualified high school teachers for both on-site and remote teaching.

About the position:

  • Teaching: Remote teaching in modern languages at the high school level and on-site teaching at the primary school level.
  • Scope: Part-time, 20%
  • Duration: 12 months or longer.
  • Employment type: Permanent or fixed-term employment.

About the position

We are looking for dedicated and competent language teachers in Somali who want to be part of our team! As a teacher with us, you will play an important role in inspiring and supporting students in their language development.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students' learning through a language-developing approach.
  • Adapting teaching based on students' needs and conditions.
  • Participating in professional development and pedagogical development work.
  • Creating an inspiring learning environment that sparks curiosity and engagement among students.

Qualifications

We see language teaching as a fundamental part of students' development and achievement, and therefore prioritize a high-quality language-developing approach. We are looking for someone who has a holistic view of learning, is engaged, and curious to continue developing in your profession with us. To be considered for the position, a teaching degree and qualification in the relevant language are required.

Responsibilities

You will teach mother tongue on-site in Stockholm, and probably modern languages via remote at the high school level depending on the needs of the schools. If needed, study guidance may also be included in the position, depending on demand from schools. Your assignment includes planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching in accordance with the curriculum. As an educator, it is important to adapt teaching to students' individual needs and support their knowledge development.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a teaching license with qualification to teach the relevant language.
  • Has teaching experience, preferably in remote teaching, and good computer skills (G Suite or similar digital tools).
  • Has a formative approach, an interest in pedagogical development.
  • Has good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

We apply the collective agreement between Almega Education Companies/Service Unions and the trade unions Unionen/SI.
