Operational Support's Mission

The Position

The position is linked to the Education Office at the Department of EECS Operational Support. The Education Office manages all administration and processing for courses and educational programs belonging to the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. The Education Office consists of 29 employees, who are divided into smaller functional groups; study advisors, master's coordinators, educational administrators, international coordinators, doctoral education administrators, educational administrators, and group leaders. The work at the Education Office is led by an educational administrative function manager (UA).

Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for a study advisor for our Education Office. The position includes study guidance for the school's master's programs, bachelor's programs, and undergraduate programs. The work involves study guidance with primary responsibility for one of the school's master's programs. The job tasks consist of guidance conversations with students during drop-in hours and scheduled visits, as well as answering questions via phone and email.

The position also includes educational administrative tasks such as eligibility review, course admissions, preparation of individual study plans, processing and preparing decisions such as study breaks, credit transfers, and study interruptions. It also includes monitoring study results in Ladok, producing statistics within the educational field, and supporting the Education Office and faculty in administrative matters. You will be responsible for the reception of our newly admitted students and participate in various information meetings and student recruitment activities. The position also includes various support measures for students, e.g., related to study techniques and the opportunity for you to participate in course modules within our engineering programs, focusing on active career start. Additionally, other tasks within the Education Office may be included.

Qualifications

Requirements

• Higher education (bachelor's degree) in a relevant field for the position
• As the work involves extensive contact with students and teachers, good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is a requirement
• You should also have good knowledge of English as it is required in daily work
• Good computer skills and familiarity with the Office suite

Meritorious

• Previous experience of similar work at a university, college, or other government agency
• Previously worked in an international environment with people from different cultural and professional backgrounds
• Experience in processing and educational administrative systems such as Ladok, W3D3, NyA, and Canvas. Knowledge of a third language is also an asset
• The work has natural peaks and valleys in connection with the start of terms, resulting in a varying workload. To fit well in the role, you have good communication skills, a professional demeanor with a high level of service as the work involves many contacts with teachers, students, and other staff
• You have the ability to work independently and in a structured manner
• You have excellent collaboration skills and value good relationships with both colleagues and students
