In beautiful custom-designed premises at Hornstull, you will find the primary and secondary school Sofiaängen. The school is a resource school aimed at children and young people with neuropsychiatric disabilities. We are a school in development with a strong student health team where we all work together to develop the school into a leading institution in special educational methods and with a scientific approach. We educate students to succeed in the future and support them to achieve the best possible results and development. The school offers an individually tailored study path in small groups of about 10 students per group. Each individual student has the opportunity to work according to their own conditions and grow at their own pace. We have about 40 staff members and approximately 120 students divided into three home bases, the later years of primary school, the introductory program individual alternative, and the social program.

We are looking for a teacher for the HT 2025 for teaching in:

• English in combination with another subject



At our school, we meet each individual student where they are and then help them reach as far as possible. Students should be given the opportunity to work according to their own conditions and grow and develop at their own pace. The school works with small student groups of 6-10 students per group, depending on the unique needs of the student. You will belong to a team of educators. You create learning environments where students feel safe, motivated, and inspired. You adapt your teaching according to the individual students' needs. You focus on the success factors of teaching, work with positive reinforcement, and are flexible yet clear. The collaborative work with the students is at the center.

Your role includes being a mentor for about 10 students. As a mentor, you have the overall responsibility for following the student's knowledge development and study situation. At our school, good mentorship is very important and a success factor for how well students achieve their goals and thrive in school. A mentor is also the link between the student, the school, and the home, and we have a close collaboration with our guardians.

Together with colleagues and the student health team, you drive pedagogical development work and dare to try different working methods and forms. You have pedagogical lunch with the students every day.

Qualifications:

We are looking for you who are a licensed upper secondary school teacher in English in combination with another subject.

Meritorious are:

• Knowledge, experience, and interest in working with students with extraordinary needs
• Knowledge and experience of working with clear pedagogical methods
• Interest and experience in working with compensatory aids
