Previous experience is desired
Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions
We work for everyone living here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.
Welcome to us
Vinsta Primary School West is a 4-9 school in Vällingby with about 500 students. The vision for the school is that every student should find their place with us. During the school year 2526, the school will undergo a major development effort by introducing full-time mentors and strengthening the teaching of Swedish and mathematics through a three-teacher system.
The school has a special education group where students with difficulties related to the regular learning environment receive part or all of their education.
We offer
An exciting position where you combine your pedagogical skills and teaching with your relationship-building side to support students in developing their social skills. The position is full-time, permanent, and includes vacation time.
Your role
As a Study Pedagogue in the school's special education group, you coordinate the teaching for the students in this group and support them in their learning led by subject teachers. You participate in the evaluation of action programs, map students' absenteeism, and work with targeted interventions at the individual level to increase student attendance. You collaborate closely with special educators, special teachers, and school counselors and participate in student health meetings every week. Primarily, your mission is to be a mentor for students in need of special support who have an action program with 100% placement in the special education group. Mentorship involves regular contact with the students' guardians, and you collaborate with school social workers and, where applicable, with social services, BUP, BUMM, and habilitation.
Your competence and experience
- Ability to support students in knowledge acquisition, study techniques, etc.
- Good knowledge of NPF diagnoses and how to make a learning environment accessible physically, pedagogically, and socially.
- Good ability to organize and structure work, including administrative tasks (evaluation of action programs, absenteeism mapping, reports of concern, etc.)
- Good ability to build relationships with students and motivate them for both schoolwork and attendance.
- Good ability to collaborate with colleagues in different roles with the student's best interests and the entire school day in focus. As a study pedagogue in the school's special education group, you need to collaborate closely with subject teachers who teach in the group, as well as student health and other actors around the student.
Meriting is some form of coaching training, pedagogical and/or social education (e.g., teacher, counselor, social pedagogue). There may be an opportunity to train as a pedagogical service dog team if there is interest from the applicant. The City of Stockholm works with competence-based recruitment aimed at ensuring each person's competence and thereby counteracting discrimination.
