About the Position

Roslagen Cultural School is looking for a drum and percussion teacher who can actively contribute to developing both the cultural school and the music scene in Norrtälje Municipality. You will play an important role in broadening the drum and percussion teaching, both genre-wise and in reaching new target groups. We are looking for a professional drum and percussion educator with a broad musical background and experience from several genres.

Roslagen Cultural School offers voluntary music education in traditional instrument and ensemble teaching, rock/pop group teaching, folk music, music production, dance, art, and theater. The cultural school's activities cover the entire Norrtälje Municipality.

Job Description

The target groups for teaching are children from 5 years old up to adults. Teaching takes place in groups/individually/percussion ensembles.

Qualifications

Your background includes:

• Relevant higher education
• High professional playing level with good genre breadth in drums and percussion
• Experienced drum and percussion educator
• Experienced ensemble leader
• Experience in leading and managing projects
• Knowledge and preferably experience in group teaching. By group teaching, we mean a defined group methodology that builds on both the individual student's development as well as that of the group.
• Driver's license B

We consider it an advantage if you also have experience working with younger children.

You thrive in order and structure, plan your work, and work purposefully to complete tasks. In your interactions with others, you are friendly but still comfortable advising and expressing opinions based on your expertise.

About the Workplace

The department consists of a total of 27 employees, most of whom work part-time. Our employees particularly appreciate the solid ensemble activities with, for example, wind orchestras, string orchestras, various session groups, and the numerous professional development projects for staff.

Employment Type

The position is a permanent part-time employment, 50%. A probationary period may apply.

Start date is August 12, 2025.
