Hello from your potential new boss! I am the principal of a fantastic nature-rich preschool area located next to the National Urban Park in Norra Djurgårdsstaden.

Environment and sustainability are our profile and are brought to life through the education and teaching offered to the children. My colleagues often describe me as energetic, globally aware, development-oriented, and also present, secure, and positive. I take on the role of educational leader together with the management team and drive the educational networks/forums together with both the management group and employees in the organization. Participation from all functions in all different assignments in preschool is important to us - to ensure that all children receive the support they are entitled to. We are forward-leaning in our organizational development and may need you to complement the team with your special expertise.

The preschool department is changing its organization and management structure in connection with the city's decision on a new management structure for closer leadership. In the new organization, there will be a management team in each principal area, consisting of a principal, assistant principals, and special educators.

Your role

As a special educator in our principal area, you provide operational support for the preschools in matters related to child health, the preschool's compensatory mission, and children in need of special support. You work proactively and preventively for the best interests of all children, from a salutogenic perspective. You are part of the principal's management team, report directly to the principal, and play an important role in supporting and developing the area's preschools. Together with the principal, you develop the preschool's work to create conditions for learning, development, and participation for all children. You are also part of a team with all special educators in the administration for joint planning and follow-up.

Your mission

• Contribute to developing employees' knowledge of special educational methods and approaches and how teaching can be planned based on children's different conditions and needs, with the overarching goal that all children can develop as far as possible.
• Work proactively and health-promoting together with the principal, management group, and work teams to create an inclusive preschool.
• Be a conversation partner and advisor in educational matters.
• Act as a professional role model and provide practical guidance in educational work.
• Develop the preschool's pedagogical, physical, and social learning environments at the organizational, group, and individual levels.
• Support in mapping and developing action plans at the organizational, group, and individual levels.
• Follow up and evaluate action plans together with work teams and guardians.
• Be a support to the principal, assistant principals, and work teams in communication with guardians.
• Conduct educational descriptions before school start in adapted primary school.
• Collaboration and contact with other actors such as healthcare, primary school, adapted primary school, and social services.
• Active member of the department's child health team for special educators.

Your qualifications and experience

We are looking for you who have:

• Certified teacher or preschool teacher and special education training
• Several years of documented experience working as a special educator in preschool
