Fornbackaskolan is a two-parallel F-6 school with approximately 340 students and 80 staff members. We are a regular school and an adapted school, which also includes a department for students with mobility impairments. The school also has its own special education group and a municipal special education group. Fornbackaskolan is a multicultural school located in a residential area where most of our students live.

At Fornbackaskolan, we work based on a language and knowledge-developing approach. Here, the significance of communication and interaction is central. The teachers use cooperative support structures to encourage students to communicate and actively use language. The focus is also on strengthening students' reading skills by systematically training decoding and language comprehension. We actively work to increase students' vocabulary by introducing new words in meaningful contexts and providing students with opportunities to use the words in conversation exercises or their own produced texts.

With the help of an accessible learning environment, we ensure that all students have a positive learning experience and have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
In the classrooms, there are interactive whiteboards and tablets available. All tablets are equipped with the programs available in Skolon, the municipality's shared digital platform.

Your responsibilities

Fornbackaskolan is looking for an overarching special education teacher with a focus on mathematics.
As a special education teacher at Fornbackaskolan, you will be part of the school's student health team and, together with other professionals, be responsible for conducting the school's overall student health work with a focus on promoting and preventive work at the organizational and group level.

Your main responsibilities include:
- Being a subject-didactic support in mathematics for both the student health team, working groups, and students during regular teaching hours 
- Contributing with other ways to see, understand, and relate to students' learning and development by providing students support and opportunities for varied working methods and tools for those students who encounter difficulties in their learning  
- Implementing guidance and stimulation, extra adaptations, and special support for individual students including special pedagogical tools and digital learning tools, e.g. seat cushions, special pens, iPads, apps 
- Individual-focused skills training in Swedish, mathematics, and English (can take place individually, in groups, or in class) 
- Assisting in the implementation and skill training of students in digital learning tools

Requirements:
- Special education teacher degree with a focus on mathematics

Meritorious:
- Special educator
- Experience working with students learning Swedish as a second language
- Experience implementing guidance and stimulation, extra adaptations, and special support for individual students including special pedagogical tools and digital learning tools, e.g. seat cushions, special pens, iPads, apps
