About Matrosen

At Matrosen, we focus on practical activities with children, fostering a strong community with both children and their parents. Matrosen is located in the scenic area of Gröndal/Ekensberg, with forests and water right at our doorstep. We fully utilize this with daily excursions in the local area.

Matrosen started its operations in 1990 and is a well-established parent cooperative with a stable and knowledgeable staff. Currently, four childcare workers and a principal work at Matrosen. We also have a chef who serves homemade meals every day of the week, prepared right in our kitchen.

We have 21 children aged 1-6 years. In our daily activities, children are often divided into smaller groups based on age or activity. The small scale and adult-to-child ratio are important to give each child a lot of attention and time. We are a preschool where all staff work practically in the children's group, which is important to us. The focus is on the children, play, and their development. The goal of our operations is for children to develop at their own pace and according to their own conditions. Creativity and creation are important parts of our work, and we spend a lot of time in our workshop/studio.

Job Description and Qualifications

We are looking for an engaged and proactive qualified preschool teacher who is driven by the desire to work with children. In this role, you will work in the children's group with educational work according to the Education Act and the applicable curriculum. You will also be involved in developing the operational plan and following up on the educational work through systematic quality work, but the main focus will be on practical work with the children.

We are looking for someone who has:

Experience and interest in working in a children's group; it is an advantage if you have worked as a childcare worker.

The ability and interest to collaborate with parents and other staff.

Experience with AAC/TAAC.

Experience in making collective decisions.

You are self-driven, quick-thinking, and solution-oriented.

Regardless of background and experience, we place great importance on your personal qualities and that you are someone who is passionate about giving the children at Matrosen a good start in life. We want to prepare children for life and work through play, experiments, and creation to stimulate their curiosity, all their senses, and their imagination.

It is important for us that you have a good command of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, and can document and follow up on the operations in writing.

Scope and Start Date

The job is 75%, and we would like you to be able to work Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 3 PM. The hours can of course be adjusted, and in the future, there is the possibility of increased workload if there is interest.
