Are you passionate about driving issues related to environment, health, and safety? Do you have the ability to inspire and empower people towards positive change? We are now looking for an EHS Manager for the Swedish Match factory in Gothenburg.

Swedish Match continuously strives to improve and refine work methods and products. The organization’s goal is for the safety and environmental work to be of the highest standard, and it constantly focuses on ongoing improvements. In the role of EHS Manager, you will have a very important role where you are responsible for driving and developing the Gothenburg factory's work within environment, health, and safety. You play a key role in ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies while working to create a safe and sustainable work environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and improve EHS processes and guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legislation and regulations within environment, health, and safety.
  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, reports, and investigations of incidents.
  • Train and guide employees and managers on EHS issues.
  • Analyze and report key figures and propose improvement measures together with the safety organization.
  • Collaborate with authorities and other external parties on EHS-related matters.

The position includes ongoing responsibility for monitoring the systematic work environment efforts and handling authority contacts related to the business area. Swedish Match is certified according to ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 and strives towards ISO 45001. You will conduct internal audits and perform inspections according to existing programs for the operations. To succeed in the role, you keep updated on environmental legislation, regulations, and requirements in the environmental and work environment areas.

The tasks are varied and conducted close to operations with close cooperation with EHS Managers in other factories. You will be part of the Gothenburg factory's management team and report to the Factory Manager. The position is a permanent position located in central Gothenburg.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a relevant university degree in environment, health, and safety or equivalent experience.
  • Has at least 5 years of experience working in EHS, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Experience working with management systems in environment and work environment.
  • Has good knowledge of Swedish work environment and environmental legislation.
  • Is proficient in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

For this position, we are looking for someone with a strong interest in continuing to develop within both EHS and leadership, as the role may eventually involve personnel responsibility. We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities and want you to be curious about people as well as pedagogical and open in your communication with others. Teaching and sharing your knowledge comes naturally to you. Since analysis and reporting of key figures are an important part of your everyday work, we want you to have a strategic and analytical approach. A combination of accuracy and flexibility will make you successful in the role.
