VTS operators, temporary positions as needed

The Swedish Maritime Administration is responsible for providing safe and modern waterways with service around the clock. If you are interested in making a difference, both in terms of the environment and safety, then the job of VTS operator is for you.

Job Responsibilities
As a VTS operator, you will work with modern technology to monitor and provide information and advice to vessels about traffic conditions, any errors in fairway markings, and other obstacles in the fairway. You will therefore have an important responsibility in minimizing the risk of maritime and environmental accidents and incidents in the area. The work is performed at irregular hours, both day and night.

Who are you?
We are looking for someone who has: 
•    Captain's license
•    Good computer skills and can easily handle various IT systems
•    Good ability to express yourself in both Swedish and English, both orally and in writing

Experience working as a watchkeeping officer is an advantage. Experience working irregular hours, both day and night, is also a plus.

Furthermore, you are good at planning and can make quick decisions and re-prioritize when circumstances change.

The position may require Swedish citizenship. A security clearance with a background check may be conducted before a job offer is made.

How and when?
This recruitment is for a temporary position as needed that should be filled as soon as possible and is valid for a maximum of 12 months from the start date. 

We will work with ongoing selection and interviews will be held via Skype.
