Company Description
Business Unit (BU) Vattenfall Power Solutions is a business unit of approximately 450 people within Business Area (BA) Vattenfall Generation that delivers nuclear fuel to Vattenfall's nuclear power plants, develops and implements projects and assignments, and provides internal technical specialist services for all of Vattenfall's operations, corporate staff, and stakeholders. This involves activities such as project management and project support, analysis management and investigation, product development, nuclear safety and dam safety assignments. The focus within the Vattenfall Power Solutions business unit is to develop our capabilities in project management and selected technical key disciplines. We actively work with continuous improvement initiatives and the development of our models, where our work and expertise create significant value for Vattenfall and its investments.
About the Role

The Technical Department at Business Unit Vattenfall Power Solutions develops and implements projects and assignments and provides internal technical specialist services in a consolidated competence center for all of Vattenfall's operations, corporate staff, and stakeholders. This involves activities such as feasibility studies, analyses, investigations, and design within all our energy sources. The focus within the business unit is to develop our expertise in strategic areas to support Vattenfall's transition to a fossil-free future.

As a Fire Engineer, you will, for example, work with
- Evaluation of current and new facilities against applicable laws, standards, and regulations
- Expert support during design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of new installations or modifications of existing systems
- Expert support/performer of fire technical analyses, risk analyses, and in the design and development of systematic fire protection work and intervention plans
- Expert support/evaluation of fire protection in new innovative electrical systems
Together with your colleagues, you will develop and maintain a high level of safety in our facilities. You will work closely with facility owners and clients, providing support with coordination, analyses, and investigations within the fire area. You will work on strategic issues and facility renewal projects where your expertise in fire protection and fire dynamics is crucial. As a fire engineer, you can contribute at several stages in the construction of new facilities or facility modifications that contribute to fossil-free solutions.

Requirements
We are looking for someone with a degree in fire engineering and several years of experience in the fire area. You have worked with SEVESO issues and have experience conducting risk analyses. You also possess a deep understanding of fire dynamics and calculations. Experience from tunnels or underground facilities is an advantage. Experience from the energy sector or industry is also seen as a plus, as well as experience with regulatory contacts in the fire protection area, certification according to SAK3, and emergency services.
Good knowledge of English and Swedish, both spoken and written, is required, as well as a B driver's license.

Location: Solna, Gothenburg, Nyköping, Gävle, Uppsala, or Västerås. Travel is a natural part of the job, but we actively work with technical solutions to reduce the amount of travel.
