About the Department

The Forensic Psychiatry unit is a unique operation within Sahlgrenska University Hospital. Our mission is to provide individually tailored psychiatric care and rehabilitation to patients who have been sentenced to care, as well as to care for patients deprived of liberty under other legislation when they require acute psychiatric specialist care.

The unit has inpatient facilities with enhanced security classifications, security levels 1 and 2. The Forensic Psychiatry unit has both a community protection responsibility and a care mission, where the goal is for patients to manage life in society without reoffending due to mental illness.

Security assistants and TERMA instructors work in the unit.

Job Responsibilities

As a security assistant, your workplace will primarily be at the access control and monitoring center at the hospital. The work involves shift work during days/evenings/weekends. Responsibilities include reception work, searches and security checks, as well as regular monitoring tasks. Patient-facing work may occur throughout the hospital.

As a security assistant, you are expected to participate in physical self-defense training.

About You

We are looking for someone with a strong interest in security or experience in security work. You possess the ability to multitask and prioritize among events. You are stress-resistant, responsible, and can handle varying tasks. Furthermore, you are structured, follow rules and processes, and have the ability to make quick decisions. The position requires you to act quickly in unpredictable situations, making it important that you can easily adapt to changing circumstances. We place high demands on security and confidentiality awareness.

You are easy to collaborate with and contribute to a positive work climate in the team. To fit the role, you need to be a responsive and unpretentious team player who takes great responsibility for your tasks and the overall results.

Some of the tasks involve interpreting X-ray images and certain camera surveillance that requires color vision. Previous experience in security screening at airports/courts is an asset but not a requirement.

You have good knowledge of the Swedish language and can express yourself well in both spoken and written form, and you should also be able to communicate in English. Speaking additional languages is an asset.
