Pilot Operator, temporary employment as needed

The Swedish Maritime Administration is responsible for providing safe and modern waterways with service around the clock. If you are interested in making a difference, both in terms of the environment and safety, then the role of Pilot Operator is for you.

Responsibilities
In the role of Pilot Operator, you will work as a logistics coordinator with tasks such as receiving pilot orders, distributing and planning pilot assignments, recording appointment times, vessel arrival and departure times, and handling ongoing administrative tasks related to the pilotage process. As a pilot operator, you will have close contact with our customers and our internal resources. At times, the work pace is high, and you are expected to manage multiple events simultaneously. Sometimes the conditions change at short notice, and you must quickly revise your planning. The work is performed at irregular hours, both day and night.

Who are you?
We are looking for someone who has:
• High school diploma
• Ship's officer class VIII and SRC
• Good computer skills and can easily handle various IT systems
• Good ability to express yourself in both Swedish and English, in both speech and writing

Experience in logistics work or education is an advantage. It is also beneficial to have experience working irregular hours, both day and night.

To succeed in this role, responsibility, collaboration, and solution-focused mindset are very important qualities. Furthermore, you are good at planning and can make quick decisions and reprioritize when conditions change.

The position may require Swedish citizenship. A security check with a background check may be conducted before an employment offer.

How and when?
This recruitment is for a temporary position as needed that will be filled as soon as possible and will last for a maximum of 12 months from the start date.
