Working for Save the Children means making a difference. As an employee at Save the Children, you know that your work contributes to making the world a better place for children and young people, surrounded by engaged colleagues who share common values. With us, you have the opportunity to both develop and be challenged.

Region South is one of four regions in Save the Children's Sweden program. The region includes Skåne, Blekinge, Kalmar, Kronoberg, and Jönköping counties. There are about 45 local associations, six districts, and many active members in the region. Approximately sixty dedicated employees work at our offices in Malmö, Helsingborg, Kristianstad, Sölvesborg, Växjö, Vetlanda, and Kalmar. Region South is characterized by a warm, brave, and inclusive organizational culture. We aim to be at the forefront of creating innovative solutions and partnerships for all children's rights to thrive, succeed in school, and grow up without violence in a society that does its job.

As a business developer at Save the Children, you are tasked with moving the organization towards a modern people's movement, strengthening local capacity, and thereby creating operations with the greatest impact for children locally. This is done through collaboration between the secretariat and the membership movement, by developing and supporting local engagement, and driving collaboration with local partners to Save the Children.

We are now looking for a part-time business developer for the rest of the year to provide support to local associations and districts in Jönköping County, or alternatively Kronoberg County.

The business developer plays a key role as an enabler in local development and will, together with Save the Children's districts, support local associations and working groups in developing operations, advocacy, and democratic work. The enabling role involves working strategically, proactively, process-leading, and supportive.

To succeed in the role, we see that you, as an applicant, have the following qualifications:

  • Good knowledge of rights-based work and children's living conditions in Sweden
  • Extensive experience working with volunteers in a democratic organization
  • Knowledge of associations and good knowledge of the democratic processes in a people's movement as an elected representative or employee.
  • Good knowledge of the core values and conditions of voluntary work
  • Good networks in Kronoberg and/or Jönköping counties
  • Knowledge in pedagogy and process management as well as experience in conducting training and workshops
  • Competence and practical experience in norm-critical work and anti-discrimination
  • Good administrative skills
  • Good digital skills in Office and Exchange
  • Very good Swedish in speech and writing

If you also have the following, we see it as meritorious:

  • Experience of innovative collaborations and pioneering operations
  • Experience of successfully building partnerships and funding together with various organizations, businesses, and the public sector
  • Experience in writing project applications and working with planning, follow-up, and evaluation of operations
  • Familiarity with advocacy work towards politicians and civil servants.

As a person, you have an unpretentious approach in your collaboration with others and act as part of the team, including others. You take initiative in social contexts and find it easy to build trusting relationships. Furthermore, you have the ability to work based on the organization's goals and prioritize actions that have the greatest impact and take responsibility for achieving the goals. Additionally, you are curious, creative, and open to new solutions.
