Do you want to contribute to more students succeeding in their schooling, in a combined role involving both teaching and coordination? With us, you will work closely with students in need of special support while becoming part of a development process. Welcome to us!

Your responsibilities

At Bryggan Insats, we meet children and young people in need of special support, those with problematic school absenteeism, and/or those with NPD (Neurodevelopmental Disorders) diagnoses. This position is a shared role where you both teach and coordinate interventions for the students at Bryggan Insats. The coordinating role involves, among other things, planning and leading meetings, as well as coordinating contacts with guardians, the regular school, and external actors such as psychiatry, police, and social services.

As a teacher, you view the student's entire school day as important, and you therefore collaborate with guardians, colleagues, the regular school, and other societal contacts regarding the student. You base your work on the student group you meet and utilize the planning each student brings from their regular school. Based on this planning, you create adapted and challenging teaching where you support the student pedagogically and socially in getting started with their schooling. Teaching primarily covers all core subjects.

You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection in both planned and spontaneous situations. To benefit the students' learning, as well as your own and the organization's development, you leverage the experiences and knowledge of various professions.

Your workplace

Bryggan Insats is a special teaching group for students in grades 1-9 who are in need of special support. Here, we receive students for up to six months, after which the student returns to their regular school. The goal of their time with us is for the student to get started with their schooling so that they can then return to their regular school and feel well. This may involve, for example, working with study technique tools, training the student in social contexts, or finding methods to cope with the school environment.

Bryggan Insats, which is part of Linköping Municipality's special and support services, operates in small groups with high staff density, providing opportunities for students to practice social interaction. Students are met by clear, safe, and stable adults. We work closely with the students and base our efforts on emerging needs. Here, you will encounter a varied daily routine where you conduct adapted teaching in a smaller setting.

We offer a job based on a student-centered approach, meaning we place great emphasis on creating teaching that is grounded in the students' curiosity and prerequisites. We are looking for you who want to make a difference for students who find school challenging, enjoy working in a team close to colleagues, and like finding creative solutions to challenges.

Who you are

Primarily, we are looking for you who have a teaching license with eligibility to teach in one or more core subjects (Swedish, English, Mathematics) in grades 1-6. Secondly, we are looking for you with a completed teacher education for grades 1-6. Alternatively, you are at the end of your teacher education for grades 1-6. It is meritorious if you have eligibility to teach in all core subjects or in more subjects in grades 1-6, based on the organization's needs.

It is a requirement that you have experience working in a curriculum-driven school through internship or employment. It is meritorious if you have taught in grades 1-6 for at least one academic year. Furthermore, it is meritorious if you have worked in a special teaching group, with disruptive students, students with school absenteeism, and/or students with NPD. It is also meritorious if you have experience working in other organizations with youth in need of support, for example, in psychiatry or social services.

In your role as a teacher in grades 1-6, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other regulatory documents. You have good communicative skills in speech and writing in the Swedish language. This is because, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), you must organize and carry out work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

As a teacher, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and allow them to participate in the design of the teaching. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document this. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other societal contacts that arise in your professional role.
