Your responsibilities

As a teacher, your starting point is to work with teaching, evaluation, and values-based work based on the national curriculum. The work is sometimes done independently but most often in close collaboration with colleagues. All teaching at Akutskolan takes place in small teaching groups with close collaboration with colleagues. We welcome students in grades 4–9, and most of our students are in grades 7–9. Therefore, you will primarily teach at the lower secondary level, but teaching may also take place at the intermediate level.

As a teacher, you view the student's entire school day as important, so you collaborate with guardians, colleagues, and other societal contacts regarding the student. You base your work on the student group you meet and use the planning that each student brings from their regular school. Based on this planning, you create adapted and challenging teaching where you support the student pedagogically and socially in their schooling. Teaching primarily covers all core subjects. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching.

You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection during both planned and spontaneous occasions. To benefit the students' learning, as well as your own and the organization's development, you utilize the experiences and knowledge of different professions.

Your workplace

Akutskolan serves as a temporary placement for students in grades 4–9. We welcome students who are undergoing disciplinary measures and in need of extra social and pedagogical support. Here, we welcome students for up to four weeks, which means a varied daily routine where you conduct adapted teaching in a smaller context.

Akutskolan, which is part of Linköping Municipality's special and support services, operates in small groups with high staff density, providing opportunities for students to practice social interaction. Students are met by clear, safe, and stable adults. We work closely with the students and base our approach on the needs that arise.

Who you are

We primarily seek you who have a teaching license with eligibility to teach mathematics and Science (NO) in grades 7–9. Secondarily, we seek you with a completed teacher education for grades 7–9. Alternatively, you are at the end of your teacher education for grades 7–9. It is meritorious if you have eligibility to teach mathematics, English, or Science (NO) in grades 4–9 or have eligibility in other core subjects in grades 4–9.

It is a requirement that you have experience working in a curriculum-based school through practice or as an employee. It is meritorious if you have taught in grades 7–9 for at least one academic year. Furthermore, it is meritorious if you have worked in a special education group.

In your role as a teacher at Akutskolan, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other regulatory documents. You have good communicative skills in speech and writing in the Swedish language. This is because, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), you should organize and carry out the work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

As a teacher at Akutskolan, you actively create good relationships with those you meet in your professional role. You create participation for the students and meet them based on their individual prerequisites. As a teacher, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and let them participate in the design of the teaching. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document this. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other societal contacts that occur in your professional role.
