Here you will have an important role in the municipality's externally funded projects, where you, together with project controllers, project managers, and managers, ensure that the projects function economically – from start to final reporting. YOUR ROLE

As a Project Economist, you work closely with the municipality's project controller and serve as an operational and administrative support within the project activities. The role involves creating structure and ensuring that project finances are handled correctly, efficiently, and in accordance with current regulations.

You will, among other things, set up and administer projects in the financial system, handle accounting orders, and monitor project payments. An important part of the assignment is also to prepare financial basis materials and compile reports for various funders, for example, related to state grants and EU funding.

The work involves many contact points, and you have daily dialogue with project managers, managers, and other economists and controllers in the organization. You act as a support in administrative questions related to the projects and help create clarity and structure in the ongoing work.

If needed, you also support other finance-related tasks based on the organization's needs.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for you who have a university, college, or university college education in economics or other education that the employer considers equivalent. Whether you are at the beginning of your career or have a few years of experience in economics, accounting, or financial administration, you are welcome to apply. The most important thing is that you have a basic understanding of accounting and financial flows, as well as an interest in developing within the field.

You are accustomed to working in digital systems and feel comfortable with Excel and other administrative tools. Since the role involves many contact points and work with financial basis materials, you need to be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

It is meritorious if you have experience with externally funded projects, public sector work, or work in project organizations, but it is not a requirement. If you also have an interest in the development of working methods, digitalization, or AI support in financial processes, we view this positively.

YOUR NEW WORKPLACE

You will become part of the accounting group within Economic Support at the Support and Premises Administration. Your workplace is located in the City Hall, right in the center of Skellefteå. Here you work together with colleagues who have broad competence in economics and accounting, where collaboration, knowledge sharing, and quality are important parts of everyday life.
