Background
The Personnel Unit at Umeå University is a central HR function tasked with driving, coordinating, and supporting the development of employer policies and personnel processes. Through our support to management, leaders, and employees, we contribute to Umeå University being an attractive employer with a successful operation.
The unit is divided into five operational areas: Payroll Administration, HR Support to Administration, Working Environment and Equal Opportunities, Competence Supply and Leadership Development, and Employer Issues (wage formation, labor law, negotiation, and restructuring). A total of 36 people work in the unit.
We are now looking for a temporary reinforcement in the Employer Issues group. Do you have experience in qualified HR work and think it would be interesting to contribute your expertise to Umeå University's work on labor law issues for 11 months? Then this is something for you!
Job Description
You will be part of the Employer Issues operational area, where you will participate in work related to restructuring, disputes, and collective agreement negotiations, as well as provide a unified approach regarding the interpretation and application of laws, agreements, and regulations within the labor law field. A key part of the role is supporting our managers in restructuring processes. The work requires close collaboration with various internal and external actors, such as trade union organizations.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have:
- An academic degree of at least 3 years in HR, Law, or another degree we consider equivalent
- Several years of relevant and current experience from qualified and strategic HR work in a business-supporting role within a large/complex organization
- Good knowledge of the labor law field with current experience in agreement, condition, and negotiation issues within public sector operations
- Good ability to communicate orally and in writing in both Swedish and English.
Current experience from restructuring processes is considered meritorious.

Terms and Application
The position is a fixed-term full-time appointment for 11 months, with a start date to be agreed upon.
