The Education Administration is one of Mjölby Municipality's six administrations and is responsible for preschool, primary school, upper secondary school, adapted primary and upper secondary school, and adult education. Dackeskolan, with approximately 320 students, is centrally located in Mjölby. We offer vocational preparatory programs that give our students the opportunity to start working directly after graduation, while also obtaining eligibility for higher education. Our programs include construction and civil engineering, electricity and energy, vehicles and transport, industrial technology, goldsmithing, as well as restaurant and food. We also have an adapted upper secondary school offering two national programs and one individual program.

Job Responsibilities

You will primarily teach vocational subjects within the house construction specialization on the construction and civil engineering program. Teaching within the adapted upper secondary school may also become relevant.

As a teacher with us, you have good subject knowledge and the ability to use varied working methods to awaken students' desire, interest, and motivation for learning. You are a clear and engaged leader who inspires, challenges, and builds trusting relationships with your students. Through continuous feedback, you help students understand how they are progressing in relation to knowledge requirements and guide them in their continued development to reach their full potential. The position also includes mentorship, where you play an important role in following and supporting students' knowledge development and study situation.

You collaborate closely with colleagues, program teams, and school leadership to develop teaching and ensure it maintains high quality and aligns with current regulatory documents and industry development.

As a vocational teacher, you are responsible for the education's workshop and materials, as well as maintaining and developing contacts with the industry. This includes collaboration regarding work-based learning (APL) and the development of the program. You contribute to students developing a strong professional identity and gaining the knowledge and skills required to be well-prepared for work in the house construction industry after completing their studies.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a vocational certificate in woodworking, as well as several years of experience and solid knowledge within the profession. We expect you to have a high school diploma or equivalent education. It is meritorious if you have teacher training and are a licensed vocational teacher in house construction. Pedagogical experience or experience in supervising apprentices and students is also meritorious. A Category B driver's license is required.

You have good subject knowledge and use varied pedagogical methods to awaken curiosity, interest, and motivation in students. You are a clear and secure leader who builds good relationships and creates a positive classroom climate. You provide continuous feedback and guide students in their knowledge development in relation to goals.

You plan and organize your work in a structured way and are good at setting goals, organizing resources, following up, and concluding activities. You have good stress tolerance, handle difficult situations calmly, and remain positive in the face of challenges. You are also open to feedback and use it to develop. You collaborate well with people in different contexts and functions. You build and maintain good relationships, both within the school and with external partners.
