Statens institutionsstyrelse (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individualized compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse issues across the country. Working at SiS, your professional life becomes an exciting challenge. Regardless of where you work in our organization or what position you hold, you help create life-changing change.
SiS Youth Home Stigby on Visingsö has space for 35 young people and receives non-compulsory school-age boys with psychosocial issues, criminality, and substance abuse. We are divided into an MBB unit (reception and needs assessment), four treatment units, and a discharge preparation unit in Jönköping.
Job Description
Do you want to be part of creating a life-changing difference for vulnerable people? Then the job as a Treatment Secretary at SiS is a meaningful challenge!
You will be part of the unit team on our MBB unit together with another treatment secretary, a unit manager, and a group leader. Conducting needs assessments will therefore be your main task, focusing on early identification of young people's needs and providing recommendations for further interventions to the social services. However, all treatment secretaries work in teams and support each other based on workload, and tasks on other units may also fall within the treatment secretary's area of responsibility.
Organizationally, you will belong to an institution-wide team consisting of five treatment secretaries, three psychologists, two nurses, and a quality coordinator. In autumn 2026, the team will also be expanded with three family therapists. The team is led by the institution's quality manager. Your main task is to coordinate the treatment of young people at the institution. You will be responsible for coordinating the work in the treatment team and, together with the unit management, ensure that the intentions of the treatment plan are followed up in daily practice, as well as maintaining contact with social services and other key actors around the young people.
The Treatment Secretary leads and convenes the treatment team, draws up treatment plans, and is responsible for documenting implemented treatment measures, while also supporting treatment staff in their daily work. The Treatment Secretary plays a crucial role in ensuring that clients receive high-quality, individualized interventions based on their conditions and needs, and works in close collaboration with other professions at the institution, such as treatment staff, nurses, educators, and psychologists. A central task in the treatment teams is to work with risk and needs assessments to identify young people's risk and protective factors and direct treatment towards the right areas. The Treatment Secretary has primary responsibility for the work with risk and needs assessments together with the institution's psychologists.
The Treatment Secretary also contributes to the development of the institution's routines according to the agency's guidelines regarding treatment and investigation. An important common task for all employees is to contribute to creating a safe environment and ensuring that safety at the institution is maintained according to current routines.
Working hours are during the day.
At SiS, we value good employee relations. This means that as an employee, you take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in good cooperation. Read more about employee relations and leadership (https://www.stat-inst.se/jobba-hos-oss/medarbetarskap-och-ledarskap/).
