Children and Youth

Children and Youth consists of a wonderful mix of employees. Job Responsibilities

You will be part of a work group with 3 existing family home secretaries and 3 social secretaries for the placed children/young people, as well as a senior social secretary. The main task of the family home secretary is to support, guide, and strengthen the foster homes in their important mission to provide children and young people with a safe and sustainable upbringing environment.

The job responsibilities include:

• Recruiting new foster homes through information, marketing, and meetings.
• Investigating and preparing new foster homes, contact families, and extra adults for their mission.
• Matching children with the resources and conditions of foster homes to create long-term sustainable placements.
• Introducing families to the mission and strengthening foster homes' competence through educational efforts, network meetings, and experience sharing.
• Offering continuous supervision, counseling, and guidance on issues related to the child's development, attachment, care, and daily life, as well as visiting foster homes regularly.
• Being a support in challenging situations and contributing tools that help the foster home handle both everyday and more complex issues.
• Collaborating closely with social secretaries, guardians, schools, and other actors to create the best possible conditions for the child.
• Documenting and following up on interventions according to current legislation and the organization's guidelines.

All our foster homes are offered individual supervision, adapted to the needs of the mission. We are close at hand to support, guide, and answer questions that may arise along the way. As part of our support, we use ICDP (International Child Development Programme). This means that foster homes receive support in developing an attentive, security-creating, and relationship-focused approach. ICDP contributes to strengthening the interaction between the child and the foster home and creates good conditions for the child's development.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a social work degree. We would like you to have supervision training focused on foster homes as well as training in ICDP.

To thrive in this role, you also need to have previous experience of working with foster care within social services, for example as a family home secretary, foster home consultant, or in another relevant professional role. You also need to be accustomed to meeting children, young people, and adults in crisis, as well as being easy to work in a team and collaborate with other actors regarding the children.

Since documentation and administrative tasks are an important part of the job, you need to have experience in this. A B-driver's license is a requirement.

One of the cornerstones of the position is collaboration, so we are looking for you with a positive attitude towards close cooperation with colleagues. You are a status-free and curious individual, with the ability to handle a position that encompasses many different tasks. Navigating complex situations and being solution-oriented comes naturally to you. Your flexible attitude allows you to adapt and steer your work according to current needs within the framework of legislation.

The child's best interest is always in focus for you. You support and guide the foster home to create a sustainable environment where all parties thrive and develop. We would like you to have an excellent ability to nurture and build relationships as well as communicate and collaborate effectively with others. Good treatment and clear communication are crucial, both towards clients, contractors, and colleagues. Personal suitability is of great importance to us; we want to see that you can clearly account for the competencies we are looking for in this position.
