Placement Coordinator at the Foster Care Unit
One of our placement coordinators at the Foster Care Unit has moved on to new opportunities within the municipality, and we are therefore looking for you who are passionate about making a difference for placed children.
At the Foster Care Unit, we are a group of dedicated foster care secretaries and child case workers, many with more than 15 years of experience in social work within the field of children and young people. Based on our different roles, we work side by side with everything concerning foster care placements for children and young people, contact activities, and EKB (External Care Homes). We are a cohesive work group with a good working atmosphere, where we support each other and keep the children in focus. We have close collaboration with our colleagues in the rest of the Business Area Children and Young People and have access to a large internal outpatient care.
As an employee, we offer you numerous benefits. In addition to a wellness allowance of 3,000 SEK/year, we also offer annual working hours, competence development, and external supervision.
1 position(s).
Responsibilities
In this role, you as a placement coordinator are responsible for seeking, assessing, and procuring external service providers. You become the expert on framework agreements and finding the right provider quickly for the specific child. You draft agreements with emergency care, supported housing, and residential care facilities (HVB) and ensure that agreements and permits are correct. You process documentation and conduct continuous follow-up of placements and agreements to ensure quality and safety for the children.
The work is largely characterized by extensive administrative handling; you write and coordinate placement materials, quality-assure providers, and ensure agreements and permits are in order. The role involves close collaboration with our investigation units, administrative unit, and our own unit. Through close dialogue, you ensure that placement decisions are based on current needs and investigations.
No two days are alike, so you need the ability to adapt and quickly adjust to new placement needs and conditions. In urgent cases, you must be able to remain calm while working efficiently and continuing to maintain quality controls. Working methods and routines are continuously shaped and improved for the role to meet the business's needs. Here you get to be part of developing this work and become a key person in shaping a more quality-assured placement process.
Qualifications
For this position, a degree in social work and experience in social work are required. You work or have previously worked with placed children and wish to continue working with placements. For the position, you must have worked in some form of investigation unit. You master the Swedish language in speech and writing and have good computer skills, being accustomed to working with many different systems simultaneously.
As a person, you find it easy to collaborate and build contacts. Since you will work closely with another placement coordinator, it is required that you are used to and enjoy having a continuous dialogue with your counterpart. You are structured and accustomed to both working according to clear processes and creating those that do not exist. Where others see obstacles, you see opportunities, and with the ability to adapt to different situations, you always keep the common goal in focus. You also have the ability to plan and organize your work efficiently, which enables you to meet deadlines and complete the tasks you have started with high quality.
