1st Cyber Defence Squadron (1.CFF) is part of the Swedish Armed Forces' capability for armed combat in the cyber domain. We defend the Armed Forces' command and support systems through both proactive hunting activities and reactive handling of IT security incidents. Our designated adversaries possess significant resources and high competence, which places high demands on us as we protect these systems. Since the squadron's operations involve handling live deployments, you will play a key role in defending Sweden and strengthening our collective capability in the cyber domain.
Main Responsibilities
As an Infrastructure Technician, you will work to ensure a stable, secure, and functional IT environment. A large part of the work consists of operations, monitoring, and troubleshooting of server and network environments. You will work continuously with communication and network infrastructure, which means you may be involved in ordering, configuring, follow-up, and documentation of connections.
The work involves interacting with protected systems and information. Therefore, it is important that you have a high level of security awareness and the ability to understand the importance of confidentiality in daily work.
Qualifications
- Experience in troubleshooting WAN, LAN, and internet connections.
- Good knowledge of Linux-based server systems.
- Experience in documentation and development of IT environments.
- Experience in monitoring and documentation of connections and networks.
- Good skills in Bash/Python.
- Very good proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
- Valid driver's license (Category B).
Merits
- Documented work experience from IT support, service desk, or operations environments.

Swedish citizenship is required for employment with the Swedish Armed Forces. Employment entails national and international duty obligations. The position has combatant status, which means you must be able to handle and use weapons. You will receive this training with us.
A security clearance with register check will be conducted prior to employment. The selection process will be supplemented with several interviews and tests. More information on this will be communicated during a potential first interview.
Employment Type: Permanent employment. A 6-month probationary period applies to those not currently employed by the Swedish Armed Forces.

Information about the recruiting unit:
The Chief of Defence and the Director General are located at the Headquarters. The Headquarters has approximately 1,000 employees – both career officers and civilian experts. From 2023-01-01, the Headquarters consists of the Defence Staff, the Operations Command, the Military Intelligence and Security Service, as well as the Headquarters Staff Department and independent oversight units.
Employment with us involves placement in a security class. Swedish citizenship is usually required. Security clearance with register check will be conducted prior to employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Employment entails an obligation to be war-placed. The employment also includes an obligation to serve abroad. The meaning of this varies depending on the type of position. A CV and cover letter must be attached to the application for employment.
