WORKPLACE: SOCIAL PLANNING DEPARTMENT

The Environmental and Building department handles regulatory matters concerning construction, environment, health protection, food, alcohol, tobacco, over-the-counter medicines, and gaming. The department is organized under the Social Planning Department but has its own board. As the Head of Environmental and Building Affairs, you will be part of the Social Planning Department's management team and are expected to contribute a holistic perspective and add value to overarching strategic discussions, planning issues, and development goals.

The Social Planning Department is responsible, in addition to environmental and building affairs, for physical planning, climate and environmental work, property management, technical supply, and a wide range of internal services to our operations. The department also manages the municipality's airport, Hagfors Airport.

DUTIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

As the Head of Environmental and Building Affairs at Hagfors Municipality, you will work with both local and regional issues and collaborate closely with the Head of Social Planning. You will actively participate in the department's strategic assignments.

You have budget and result responsibility for your operations, as well as personnel responsibility for the employees within the department. Since the operation is small, some case handling may occur, but primarily you are expected to ensure that the employees have the right competence and prerequisites to handle the department's issues independently and efficiently with a high level of service orientation.

We are looking for you with a relevant university degree, for example in environmental law, planning and building law, or other education that, individually or in combination with work experience, can be assessed as equivalent by us as employers. Previous experience of leadership within municipal or public operations and regulatory authority is meritorious.

You speak and write fluent Swedish and have good knowledge of English in speech and writing. A driver's license with category B is required.

Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities. A personality test may be conducted at a later stage of the recruitment process.
