We are looking for a Department Manager for the anesthesia operations within Surgery in Karlstad – a central role in a business area with highly specialized care, engaged employees, and 24/7 operations.

Your workplace

The business area AnOpIVA includes surgery, anesthesia, intensive care, sterile technology services, postoperative care, and the Pain Center. Approximately 400 employees work within this business area.

The Surgical Department in Karlstad has 20 modern operating rooms. We perform both elective and emergency surgeries and operate around the clock. In total, we have approximately 150 employees. You will be part of a management team where you will be one of four department managers, with direct responsibility for operating room nurses and assistant nurses.

Your responsibilities

As a Department Manager in Surgery, you are a key figure in work that is based on the Region's vision and values. You lead based on set goals and assignments, continuously monitor results, and practice a trust-based leadership style that contributes to motivated and engaged employees. In your role, you are responsible for the healthcare provided, personnel issues, budget, working environment, and business development. You report directly to the Business Area Manager and become part of the business area's management team.

Your knowledge and competencies

You, as the applicant for this position, are a licensed nurse. It is meritorious if you are a specialist nurse in anesthesia, surgery, or intensive care. Previous management experience is also meritorious.

You are a clear and trust-based leader with the ability to translate strategic goals into concrete results. You have good collaboration skills and thrive in an environment where cooperation and a holistic view are crucial for driving the business forward. We are keen on finding the right person for the position, so great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
