Welcome to Primary Care in Region Värmland – a small department with a big heart! We are looking for an engaged and proactive Deputy Department Manager who wants to make a difference for elderly patients with multiple chronic conditions and palliative care patients. Together with our experienced team in Kristinehamn, you will play a key role in developing primary care and leading daily operations with a focus on quality and patient satisfaction.

Your workplace

Primary Care in Region Värmland consists of a primary care ward and a primary care team in Kristinehamn and Säffle, respectively. The primary care ward in Kristinehamn belongs to the Eastern Healthcare District.

We are the small department with the big heart, and together we want to develop primary care.

The ward serves elderly patients with multiple chronic conditions (65 years and older) and palliative care patients from 18 years of age. Patients are admitted by referral when inpatient care is needed. Patients come from health centers in Eastern Värmland, the ambulance service, Karlskoga Hospital, and various specialties at the County Hospital (CSK). We have close cooperation with the primary care team. A physiotherapist and an occupational therapist also work on the ward, each at 50% capacity. Doctors are available Monday to Friday during daytime hours. X-ray and laboratory services are available in the same building during daytime hours, Monday to Friday.

The position is a fixed-term appointment of 6 months with the possibility of permanent employment.

Your assignment

As Deputy Department Manager in primary care, you work closely with the work group on the primary care ward. You lead the daily work on the ward, participate in patient intake, and maintain contact with internal and external stakeholders. You are responsible for absence management and short-term recruitment, and you develop routines. The work is carried out in close cooperation with the Department Manager, where we divide tasks based on interest and competence.

The position comprises 75% as Deputy Department Manager and 25% clinical ward work based on your profession.

You work daytime hours, Monday to Friday.

Your knowledge and competencies

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse, or have other education suitable for the position, with relevant professional experience. We prefer that you have experience in leadership, administrative work, and development work. Previous experience as a manager or leader is an advantage.

As a person, you are secure and stable in your role. You are self-reliant, take initiative, and collaborate well with others. You have the ability to organize and plan your work and communicate clearly. A flexible and structured work approach characterizes you, and you motivate others by creating engagement and involvement.
