Are you innovative and motivated by seeing both employees and organizations develop? Now is your chance to apply for the position of Unit Manager for the Controlling Unit!
Your workplace
At our Planning and Finance Department, controlling competence is gathered in the Controlling Unit. The unit currently consists of approximately 27 controllers and a Controlling Manager. Together, we help and support Region Värmland's more than 400 managers in their various core tasks.
We are now strengthening the Controlling Unit and are therefore looking for unit managers who want to contribute and become part of our continued journey towards the goal of providing the best support and service to the organization. We always strive to improve and strengthen our partnership with the operations we support. The unit is led by a Controlling Manager, with whom you will have close collaboration.
Your responsibilities
Together with the Controlling Manager, you are responsible for driving and developing work related to economic control, follow-up, and analysis connected to the controllers within your overall area of responsibility. Promoting collaboration and creating synergies, as well as quality-assuring the unit's work, are of great importance.
The work includes both your own operational area of responsibility and coaching and ongoing follow-up of your work group. The role involves a present leadership style linked to economic control, follow-up, and competence development – with a focus on improving results and streamlining working methods. You also set operational requirements and follow up on our internal processes within the respective units.
As a Unit Manager within the Controlling Unit, you report to the Controlling Manager at Region Värmland.
Main responsibilities
In this role, you will support and collaborate closely with the Controlling Manager and have personnel and work environment responsibility for 6–8 controllers. You lead and distribute responsibility tasks within the area of responsibility using existing resources and are part of the Controlling Unit's management group.
Furthermore, you are responsible for coordinating and following up on budget, forecast, and accounting processes within assigned operations within the unit. You are expected to actively participate in the Controlling Unit's joint activities and work environment initiatives, as well as promote collaboration forums with your controllers and other relevant partners.
The assignment also includes developing methods and tools for economic control in public operations related to the controlling role, as well as participating in projects and development initiatives within the Controlling Unit.
Your skills and competencies
To thrive in this role, we see that you are driven by change management and motivated by exercising inclusive leadership. You have experience in direct or indirect leadership as well as economic strategy and analysis work, preferably within a larger organization.
You are educated as an economist and have a few years of experience from a role as a Unit Manager, Group Manager, or Team Manager with a connection to economics. As a person, you are driven, responsible, open to change, and curious. You are strong in communication and have an easy time inspiring and motivating others. Since we are keen on finding the right person for the position, we place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Selection and interviews take place continuously. We look forward to receiving your application today!
