We are now looking for you who want to help develop the school health services at Mellanhedskolan in the role of School Nurse.

The responsibilities of the school nurse include monitoring students' development towards knowledge goals, working to promote health and prevention, implementing vaccination programs, organizing school doctor appointments, following the basic program, and performing simpler healthcare interventions. You are interested in working with preventive health work as well as managing the other common tasks required for a well-functioning medical school health service. You have a desire to further develop a modern school nurse role together with the school health team, educators, and other colleagues in Malmö City's medical school health service. You work together with the school's school health team and staff and have a genuine interest in the school's students as well as a desire to support students in reaching their goals in school. As a school nurse, you will also collaborate with guardians as well as other operations and authorities outside the school. You work for a safe school environment that promotes health, learning, and security. The assignment also involves documentation in digital tools.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who already works as a school nurse or who wants to develop further in their profession as a nurse. You are a registered nurse with specialist education as a pediatric nurse, district nurse, or school nurse. You need to have at least two years of experience as a nurse, and it is an advantage if you already have experience working as a school nurse. It is also an advantage if you have experience in health-promoting work with children and young people.

As a person, you are structured and organized in your work, as well as responsible and secure in your role.

About the Workplace

As a school nurse, you report to a dual leadership. You are employed by the principal at the school but also have a central operations manager according to HSL who is the Medical Responsible. You have close cooperation with both managers, who are responsible for ensuring you receive a good introduction and continuous support in your position. As a school nurse with us in Malmö City, you are part of a network together with other school nurses at our schools throughout the city. In the network, you meet regularly and have annual joint training on current topics.

Mellanhedskolan has operations for students in preschool class through grade 9, as well as an adapted primary school for grades 1-9. There are approximately 1,100 students at the school. Mellanhedskolan has operations in two buildings. Mellanheden 1 has operations for grades F-3, while Mellanheden 2 has operations for grades 4-9. Two school nurses work at the school, and we are now expanding with a third position at 40%. This position will be located at Mellanheden 2. If there is a desire for a higher degree of employment, it is possible to combine the position with another school.
