Workplace Description
As a microscopy assistant (amanuens), you work together with the responsible physician in teaching practical clinical pathology, where microscopy instruction is a key component.
We are currently seeking two microscopy assistants for a part-time position (8.3%) during the period of September 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026. The workplace is located in group rooms at Forum Medicum, other facilities at the Department of Pathology, or in lecture halls.

Responsibilities
As an amanuens, your tasks may vary, but you must be enrolled at the faculty where the work is performed, and the tasks should provide insight into the academic world. In this specific role, you will help students interpret microscopic images to increase their understanding of disease processes.
Working hours will be during daytime.
Qualifications
Requirements for the position are:
- You are actively studying on the Medical Programme at the Faculty of Medicine in Lund.
- You have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
- You have passed the course in pathology.
- Good teamwork skills.
- Good communication skills.
Qualifications that are meritorious for the position include:
- Previous experience as an amanuens.
Other Information
The employment is fixed-term at 8.33% with a desired start date of September 1, 2026.
The employment must not negatively affect the amanuens's studies and cannot be combined with other employment. Regulations regarding educational employment as an amanuens are found in the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 2017:284), Chapter 5, Sections 8–12.
The employment is covered by the working time agreement for teachers.
