The dermatology clinics in Malmö and Lund are part of the dermatology department at Skåne University Hospital (Sus). Skåne University Hospital encompasses hospital operations in Lund and Malmö and is the country's third-largest hospital. The Dermatology Care Unit (VE) operates in Lund and Malmö with a total of approximately 80,000 visits annually. The operations are divided into a specialized and an accredited unit, where the latter operates within the framework of the Care Choice (Vårdvalet). Within the specialized unit, there is inpatient care, day surgery, and several specialized clinics in areas such as pediatric eczema, psoriasis, genodermatoses, laser treatment, Mohs surgery, vulvar diseases, hyperhidrosis, and sexually transmitted diseases. In Malmö, there is a special department for occupational and environmental dermatology. Across the various units, there are approximately 45,000 doctor visits and 35,000 medical treatments per year. Teaching and research are an important and integrated part of the operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a Specialist Trainee (ST-läkare) for the Dermatology Care Unit in Lund.

As a Specialist Trainee, you will have responsibilities within both the specialized and accredited operations. This will also include general dermatology and venereology as well as the various specialized clinics. The operations are primarily focused on outpatient care. However, through work in day surgery and inpatient care, we offer opportunities for deeper specialization in more complex dermatology. Given that we have a comprehensive operation, we can offer you great opportunities for development within clinical dermatology, teaching, and research.

Your placement will be in Lund, but duties may also take place in Malmö. Travel beyond Malmö-Lund may be relevant.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who apply are a licensed physician with eligibility to work within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale are a requirement. A research background and documented research experience are meritorious. Previous clinical experience in dermatology is also a merit, but not decisive.

We are looking for someone who is flexible, meaning you have an easy time adapting to changed situations. You are engaged, have good patient contact, and the ability to handle stressful situations. It is also of great importance that you have a passion for dermatology and venereology with the entire spectrum of diseases. Personal suitability is highly valued.
