Jönköping Municipality is a major employer with hundreds of different professional roles. We are growing alongside the municipality's development, with more residents, more housing, and a wider range of services. We are always looking for new skills – colleagues with diverse backgrounds and experiences, united by the common drive to create a better municipality to visit, live, work, and call home.
Do you believe in people's ability to develop and take steps toward self-sufficiency? Do you have experience in guiding, motivating, and creating conditions for change? Then you may be the team leader we are looking for to lead initiatives that strengthen individuals' health, labor market knowledge, and hope for the future.
Welcome to us
The Labor Market Department (AMA) is part of the Education Administration and has approximately 80 employees. We work with labor market policy measures to prevent and reduce social exclusion and strengthen people's opportunities for self-sufficiency. Through work training, rehabilitation, education, investigation, and guidance, we offer support to people who, for various reasons, are outside the labor market.
The government has announced a statutory activity requirement within the social assistance system, scheduled to come into effect on July 1, 2026. AMA has been tasked with overseeing the implementation of this requirement, meaning that individuals receiving social assistance for an extended period must participate in meaningful activities to strengthen their chances of approaching the labor market. As a result, the number of participants within AMA will increase this autumn.
Your new job

As a team leader, you are responsible for daily planning and leadership within our practical operations. The role involves planning, leading, and distributing tasks, as well as introducing, supervising, and motivating participants based on their individual prerequisites. You actively work to create structure, participation, and a good work environment with a focus on safety and quality, while also monitoring and documenting the participants' development.
The role also involves contributing to the continued development of the operation by developing working methods and approaches, as well as collaborating with both internal and external actors. You are part of a work team and work closely with social secretaries, the Swedish Public Employment Service, and other collaboration partners to create good conditions for each participant's development.
Your qualifications

We prefer that you have an academic education in a field relevant to the assignment. You have experience in supervising, coaching, or supporting people in change and development. To succeed in the role, you need to be a secure and pedagogical leader with the ability to create structure, build good relationships, and motivate others. Furthermore, you have good digital competence and experience documenting in operational systems, good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing, and a valid driver's license (Category B).
It is meritorious if you have education in leadership, social work, pedagogy, or another area that the employer considers relevant. Experience with labor market measures, municipal operations, or work with people who are far from the labor market is also meritorious, as is knowledge of Motivational Interviewing (MI), Supported Employment, or solution-focused approaches. We also view positively language skills beyond Swedish and experience in meeting people with different cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
