In Östra Göinge Municipality, we have a shared Staffing Unit for the municipality's operations, where our main task is to cover short-term absences.

Job Description

Are you engaged, playful, have a big childlike spirit, and want to gain work experience? Do you see it as a matter of course that every individual child/young person should develop in a pedagogical environment based on their conditions and participation? Can you work with short notice? Does this sound like you? Then you are welcome to join us!

Within preschools, you can work as a childcare worker or childcare assistant. The children you work with are between 1–5 years old, and together with permanent staff, you participate in various activities. You are also expected to be helpful with daily chores.

Within primary schools, you can work as a student assistant, supporting permanent teachers in the classroom. In addition, you can work with students who, for example, have reading and writing difficulties or different types of functional variations that require special support. In schools with children aged 6–12, you are also expected to be helpful in the after-school center before school starts or after the school day ends.

In a special needs school, you assist students in need of special support, and you can work as a student assistant, just as in primary school. You can work with an entire class, a group of students, or a specific student. The work includes care tasks such as hygiene work when needed or handling various technical aids.

Regardless of which operation you work in, you are responsible for how much you want to work by making yourself available in our booking system, Medvind. You are expected to be available for at least 16 hours per month.

Qualifications

You who apply are at least 18 years old, have a completed upper secondary education or equivalent, preferably within child and youth care. Adult education or vocational training is considered equivalent to upper secondary education and/or relevant work experience after individual assessment. It is meritorious if you:

• Are studying on the preschool or teacher program
• Are trained as a childcare worker, teacher assistant, or student assistant
• Have relevant experience working in preschools/schools

You will gain insight into many of the municipality's operations, and you need to have the ability to handle this insight with respect and humility. It is also important that you share our values and see your role as a support/helping hand to the municipality's operations in the municipality's work to make our customers happy and proud.

To thrive with us, you must be able to take initiative at your temporary workplace, be receptive, pedagogical, and flexible. You need to master the Swedish language in both speech and writing. You are also accustomed to using the computer as a tool in your work. It is an advantage if you have a driver's license and access to your own car.

To be employed, you must present an extract from the police record of convictions, as our operations take place within Östra Göinge Municipality's schools and preschools.

Great importance is attached to personal suitability. Personal suitability will be decisive in the recruitment process.
